My first post where I introduce myself and gush about a great author.

Hello and welcome to my blog!
I’m Sarah, I’m 25 and I live in Cornwall in the UK. I’ve had a love of reading and books since a very young age and have decided after recent events (I became the official proof reader for Sarah K L Wilson – You’ll learn more about her in this post) I decided I wanted to share all the amazing books I’ve read with other like minded people.

So here goes, I’m dedicating my first post to Sarah K L Wilson’s books, so far I’ve read ALL but one of her books and that one will be started in the next day or so…..
Sarah K L Wilson is a Canadian writer who specialises in sci-fi fantasy cross over novels, she’s also written a novel based on The Hudson’s Bay company and the story is based around true events. She’s also done a fantasy satire (this is the one I need to read!)
All her books can be purchased on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk with several included on kindle unlimited!

Find them here:
and here:

As with all her books, they are fast paced, mind bending and leave you needing more!
she has the last of The Unweaving Chronicles out in July and I really really can’t wait to read it! If you haven’t read any of her books I suggest you have a nose at them via the above links, I’m sure you’ll love them just as much as I do.

I hope she doesn’t mind but I’ve pinched her website header so you can all see how amazing her covers are!

Hopefully my rambling and gushing hasn’t bored you too much!
Until next time

Erin Johnson – Cozy witch mystery

Hi all!

A series I was recently sucked into is the Cozy witch mysterys by Erin Johnson.
There are currently 5 books in the series with Erin in the process of writing the 6th book.

Reading order is as follows:
1-  Seashells, spells and caramels
2- Black arts, tarts and gypsy carts
3- Mermaid fins, winds and rolling pins
4- Cookie dough, snow and wands aglow
5 – full moons, dunes and macaroons

I really enjoyed this series.
In book one Imogen finds out she is a witch during a magical baking contest! She has to learn how to bake with magic while trying to work with her new cooking flame Iggy, who reminds me a lot of Calcifer from Howl’s moving castle (I love both the book and film so this made me very happy!).

In every book there is a murder which somehow Imogen ends up embroiled in and tries to solve.
They are easy to read, enjoyable and entertaining and Erin is such a good writer she leaves you wanting more at the end of each story.

Definetly recommend these, I managed to read all 5 in around 1 week around my shifts at work.

Have you read them? What did you think?
Happy reading

Shattered Love – Ivy Rose

Hi all!

So one of the books I’ve recently done a proof read for is Shattered Love by Ivy Rose.
This is Ivy’s debut novel and damn is it good!
How gorgeous is this cover by the way!!

In Shattered Love we meet Avery and Dominic. Unlike other books they are already in an established relationship, in fact they are married. This is so refreshing in this genre as many of you will agree. This is a book I’ll be recommending to anyone and everyone this year, to be honest I already have recommended to a few people.
There currently isn’t a pre-order link for it as there has been some issues with the release date being pushed back. But it will be available on Amazon on the 12th of June 2018 (new release date) pop over to her Facebook page for more info and updates on the release.

I’m going to leave you with the synopsis of the story.

Love; four letters, one word.
The emotion it causes can’t be written.
People have tried but no one can capture its true meaning.
It’s something you feel, something that consumes you. It has no limits and sees no reason.
This is what I feel for Dominic Stone
My entire world gravitates around him. I am his, and he is mine.
I had no idea how intense my love for him could ever be; so fierce that you’d have to feel it to believe it.
I never thought there would be a day where I would have to make a choice.
My love has no boundaries, it’s endless… I am his and he is mine

My childhood would have destroyed anyone else. Not me.
I fought. I overcame.
My ghosts haunt me, but they do not define me.
On the day I asked Avery to prom, she had no idea I was making her mine.
For her, I became the man I saw in her eyes; the man worthy of her love.
My heart is guarded, but my love is raw.
She’s my everything: my sun in the clear blue sky and my shining stars in the darkness.
Until she shatters me in a way nothing else ever could

Deadly Series by K L Humphreys

Hi all!
Between my shifts at work over the last fortnight I’ve been reading the Deadly series by K L Humphreys, I also got to proof read book 4 of the series but I’ll do a separate post on that one.

The series order is;
Deadly Hunt
Deadly Obsession
Deadly Past

In Deadly Hunt we meet Sophia and her family/friends. The other books in the series follow the story of a different couple but we still get to see more about the other couples, so they’re basically stories within stories.

I found the stories really gripping and literally read each book one after the other, for-fitting sleep for the need to find out what happens next!

Below are the blurbs for each book. All I’d give 5 stars to so you NEED to read them!

Sophia Dallas has recently been discharged from the Army after suffering at the hands of the enemy. On her journey to healing, she has finally started to live her life, but the past never really stays in the past.

Nathan Slade, a former FBI agent, now owns his own P.I business, has taken on a case that could make or break him. In all the chaos, he meets the love of his life.

What happens when the man Nathan’s hunting also happens to be a man on the hunt himself – only his target happens to be the love of Nathan’s life?

Lives will be lost, leaving pain and suffering in the wake of destruction while Nathan and Sophia learn the hard way that the future is never promised – especially theirs

For readers aged 18 years and above. This book contains scenes you may find disturbing.

Winter Cortez is struggling to regain her life after a vicious assault almost four years ago.
Finally, she meets a man she feels she can trust.
But her attacker is still out there. And he is watching her every move.

Sam Mitchell, the former Military man, agrees to do a favor for his friend and teammate.
A favor which brings him face to face with a woman who brings out all of his protective instincts.

What happens when the woman you love is being watched by a man nobody can find?
Will Sam find him or lose Winter forever?

For readers aged 18 years and above. This book contains scenes you may find disturbing. It also has scenes that may be a trigger for some.

Friends with Benefits. Simple, right?
No strings.
No complications.
And definitely no pesky feelings.

On that, Morgan Yates and Luke Dallas agree. Until they don’t.

Morgan makes the monumental mistake of falling in love with Luke and walking away may be the hardest thing she ever has to do. After all, she did move here to start living life on her terms, and to make a name for herself as a new Police Detective.

While Luke is too busy worrying about his past, she needs to start moving towards to her future.

Luke can deny it all he wants, but he knows Morgan is it for him. He also knows he screwed up big time by letting her walk away, but he’s too stubborn to let go of the past and see what is right in front of him. Doing whatever it takes to get her back may just be the bravest thing he ever does.

But when Luke’s past catches up with him, will Morgan be the one who pays the ultimate price?

Book four – Deadly Encounter  is due for release May 30th 2018

Mist & Whispers – C M Lucas

Hi all!
Hope you’re all well and have been busy reading.

I was very lucky to get a review copy of Mist and whispers by C M Lucas.
Look how gorgeous the 2 covers are for it.

Imagine a world in eternal darkness. A world where skeletal beasts lurk in the forest. Where the women are missing, and the men are in need of salvation…

In the West-English town of Little Wolf Green, Scott’s bookshop is about to close down. Convinced the bookshop holds the key to her mother’s identity, sixteen year old Anya Piddling vows to save Scott’s, whatever the cost.
When four books of magic and myth take the world by storm, Anya begins a journey to discover the truth about the author, known only as the Weaver. Followed closely by her friends, and one surly, bitter ex-boyfriend, Anya soon realises a whole new world awaits: a world gone very wrong, with maddening whispers in the forest, magical winged Kings and a dragon-boy that understands her, inside and out. But this world needs a saviour… and everyone is looking at her.

I went into this book only knowing that it was about a girl called Anya who believed the answer to who her mother was could be found in a book shop in wales.

I loved how the characters were built up and how the story flowed, there were a few times I got slightly confused and had to go back a page or two but that’s mainly because I forgot the names of certain support characters.
The world they arrive in with its creatures and people were well written and described so well I felt like I was actually there. In fact some of the creatures were described so well they starred in my dreams.

As a whole the book is enjoyable and well written but the story line is fairly complex so I recommend it is read in as few sittings as possible (I read it in 2).
I’d rate this book as 4/5 stars. Definetly one to pick up.

Well I’ll leave you all to your reading as I’ve got the ARC of the third viking assassin book waiting for me to delve in.

Happy reading,
let me know what you’re currently reading or if there’s a book you’ve read that you think I should read.

Defeating the odds – Kacey Hamford & Amy Davies

Hi all, hope you’re all well.
What have you been reading lately? I’ve just finished this.

Defeating the odds:

This is the first M/M romance I have read. And I must say it won’t be the last.
The characters are well written and thought out and their background stories are full of detail.

Damon and Ford both end up in different rehab centres and connect via a buddy email system. We follow them as they learn about themselves, battle their demons and fall for each other.

I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants a change from the usual F/M romance books that are available.

Let me know your thoughts if you read it.

Happy reading

One Night – K L Humphreys & Rachel M Storm

Hi all,

You may remember me mentioning proof reading a co-write lately.
Well here’s my review for it and the cover reveal!
One Night:
Release Date March 7th and available to pre-order on Amazon, Nook, iBookstore and Kobo.

One Night –

One night, that’s all it took for my life to change.
I didn’t expect to walk in on my boyfriend cheating on me.
I shouldn’t have slept with my brother’s best friend.
I shouldn’t have ran once it was over.
But I did, and now I’m back with a secret that will change all of our lives.
I want a happily ever after… But that may not happen.

One night and she’s ruined me.
I slept with my best friends little sister, the one girl I’ve wanted for a long time.
It was the best night of my life.
She’s back with a bang and the whole town’s talking.
I need her in my life, but the people trying to sabotage us are making it hard for me to get her.
She’s all I want and I won’t stop until I get her

I absolutely loved One Night, in fact I’ve actually read it twice.
It’s incredibly well written, the plot and characters are brilliant with some excellent one liners that will have you wetting yourself.
I found it really hard to put this book down and read it in one sitting or should I say in “one night”.
This is a must read book for 2018 by two authors that are sure to be the next big thing.
If you read just one book this year make it this one.

Happy reading

The Secrets Of Life – K L Humphreys

Hi all,
I was introduced to this author and her books by a author friend of mine.
I often read the blurb of a book before I start reading it but this time I didn’t.

I was hooked within the first few pages, in fact I stupidly thought “I’ll read a couple of chapters before bed” this actually turned into me finishing the book and realising it was 4am!

Jess is a 21 pole dancer who’s looking after not only her 4 year old daughter but also her 2 younger brothers. Was this her career of choice, or was it just a career of necessity?

I absolutely loved the chemistry between her, her daughter and her younger brothers. There were several laugh out loud moments and others that had me fuming on her behalf. The story line was gripping and believable. It also makes you think that things aren’t as black and white as people want you to think. I can’t wait for K L to write the rest of “The working girls” books.
I highly recommend this book, a 5 star read!

Sometimes there is only a pole between survival and starvation. For Jessica Hughes, this is her reality.

At 21, she’s single-handedly supporting her 2 younger brothers and her 4-year-old daughter while paying off her deadbeat mother’s gambling debts.

Her life may seem like crap to others, but Jess knows it could be worse.

Then, Hunter O’Shea walks back into her life and drops a bombshell – a secret that could destroy everything they once had.

Once again, Jess finds herself picking up the pieces of her broken heart.

Will Hunter find the courage to claim the family he never knew he needed?

Or will Jess move on before he gets the chance?

Have you read it? what did you think?
I’m off to proof read a book for 2 lovely authors.
Happy Reading!
