I was lucky enough to get to be a beta reader for this book.
I found the first chapter a little hard to read as it is from the P.O.V of someone with depression, (I have battled depression for several years.) K.A. Duggsy masters the art of writing this subject, it was so well written at times it actually felt like I was reading my own thoughts/feelings.
As the story continued I went onto a roller coaster of emotion. I laughed at several parts, so hard at one part my dog glared at me as I woke him up. (Want to know the part? Read the book and find out!)
This roller coaster of emotion also took me through rage, sadness, loss, regret/remorse and happiness.
I thought I’d figured several of the parts of this book out, oh how wrong I was. There are so many twists and turns that you just can’t put it down as you NEED to carry on reading to find out what happens.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a must read of 2017

I recently read If there’s no tomorrow. I absolutely loved this book (then again I don’t think there’s a JLA book I’ve read and not enjoyed!)
Lena has always felt immortal. But one night can change everything.
Lena and Sebastian have been close for as long as anyone can remember. Best friends, even. But secretly Lena has been wanting something more—Sebastian could be more than a friend, if only Lena could figure out how to convince him that they could, and should be together.
But in a single night, after a single party, everything changes and suddenly Lena isn’t thinking about her relationship with Sebastian at all.
The only thing she’s thinking about is trying to piece together what happened that night, and how she was the sole survivor in an accident that left 4 of her friends dead.
Even as her friends and family try to rally around her, Lena pushes them away as the memory of the accident begins to resurface. How will they ever forgive her for what she did? How will Sebastian forgive her?
And how will she ever forgive herself?
This book was a emotional roller coaster, one minute I was smiling, the next tears were streaming down my face.
Incredibly well written, it addresses issues such as lone survivor guilt and grief in a sensitive yet informative matter.
I loved the story line and the relationship between all characters and highly recommend this book.

Hi, So I’ve not been reading much lately as been ill and my concentration hasn’t been brill due to long term illnesses.
But the other day while out I grabbed a copy of Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. Partly as it’s been on my to get list for ages, and partly because I had to wait while my mum had a mri and I’d forgotten to grab a book as we left the house.
Maddy is a 17 year old girl who is allergic to the world, Olly is the boy next door.
Can love conquer illness?
This is Nicola’s debut novel and after reading it I really want to read her next one “The sun is also a star”
Everything, Everything had me laughing, grinning my head of and at times crying my eyes out. It’s a very easy read, brilliant when you don’t want to have to concentrate hard on remembering a story line or millions of characters.
Definetly a great read, I’d give it a 4/5. It’s also now out as a film but after how wrecked the book had me at times I think I’ll wait for it to come out on dvd!

Sorry it’s been a little while since I posted. This is due to a combo of brain fog with my ME as well as reading some bits I couldn’t do a review about as not due out till end of the month and October etc etc. (Plus I will admit I saw supernatural for the first time the other day and have already binged watched up to the end of season 2!)
So just before the brain fog kicked in I read the first of the Players of Marycliff books by Jerica Macmillan.
I have now read books 2, 2.5, 3 and 4!
2 – Convenient Fall and this follows the story of Chris and Megan
2.5 – Opening Hearts ( where Matt meets Hannah) – this is free if you sign up to Jerica’s newsletter
3 – Managed Hearts – this follows on from Matt and Hannah
4 – Unsaid things – we revisit Abby and Lance
As with all the books in this series you can read them as stand alone novels.
I really enjoyed these and do recommend them to anyone that wants a bit of hot romance. They are all well written and the sex scenes don’t leave you cringing or reaching for the sick bucket unlike some I’ve read before!
On this link you can find all her books. Definetly worth a read and I’m sure I’ll read books 5 and 6 in the series soon too!

Coming up in future posts…..

The Captain of the Monte Cristo – Sarah K L Wilson & John Gunningham
Advance – K A Duggsy

Bit of a change from the books I usually blog about.
Summer Fling is book one of the “Players of Marycliff University”. Each book can be read as a stand alone or read as a series.
I came across it on Facebook advertised by the author (Jerica Macmillan) as a freebie, and once I’d read the extract Jerica shared from it I decided I had to read it.
“Why do you keep asking me out anyway? You’re Lance Kane, right?”
His smile faded, and his expression turned a little wary. “Yeah. I’m Lance Kane. Why do you think I keep asking you out? I told you I like spending time with you. Why else would I ask you out?”
Abby leaned forward now, pressing her point. “But Lance Kane doesn’t go out with a girl more than twice.” She motioned with her finger back and forth between them. “What’s the deal here, then? If you’re calling this a date, that makes three.”
Abby is a Spanish major who meets Lance a football player who’s just graduated at a party. Lance is a serial dater 2 dates tops and then he moves on. Abby doesn’t tend to date or party.
Opposites attract or so they say.
I fell in love with Abby and Lance, the more they learnt about each other the more in love with the book I fell (So happy to find that I can revisit them in book 4!)
A real feel good romance. So good that I’m currently reading the second book!
This is the first book of Jerica’s that I’ve read and would highly recommend her to anyone that likes romance or just a good sexy book.
